Daily Landscaping builds fire pits and outdoor fireplaces across Greater Pittsburgh and Northwest Pennsylvania. A fire pit is the thing that gets a patio used in October instead of sitting empty. It is also one of the least expensive ways to make a back yard feel finished.
We build them wood burning or gas, freestanding or set into a patio with seat walls around them. Call (724) 605-4822 for a free quote.
Anyone can set a metal ring on the grass. What we build is masonry: a fire pit that is part of the hardscape, laid on a proper base so it does not settle, and sized so the seating around it actually works.
Most of the fire pits we build come with the patio. We lay the patio, set the pit, and run seat walls around it so you are not hauling chairs out every time. Built-in wall lighting is a common add-on and it is far easier to run the wire while the wall is open than to add it later.
Wood burning is simpler, cheaper, and it is what most people picture. No gas line, no permit for the line, and you can burn what you have.
Gas costs more up front because a line has to be run, but it lights instantly, it does not smoke, and there is nothing to clean up. If you want to use it on a weeknight without planning ahead, gas is the one that actually gets used.
We will walk you through both when we come out. There is no wrong answer, it depends on how you will actually use it.
An outdoor fireplace is a bigger build than a fire pit. It is a structure with a footing, a firebox, and a chimney, and it needs to be engineered so it stands up to freeze and thaw here.
It also does something a fire pit cannot: it gives the space a wall and a focal point, which makes a big open yard feel like a room. If you are considering one, we will be straight with you about what it costs before you get attached to the idea.
Shade over the seating changes how much the space gets used. See pergola installation.
Daily Landscaping has been going since 2014. Owner TJ Belsterling runs the crews himself, and if you deal with this company you deal with him. There is not a client we work with that TJ has not spoken to personally.
Every estimate goes out within 48 hours, and usually within 24. If you have ever had a contractor walk your property and then never send anything, that is the promise we are making. You get a written, itemised estimate, not a number shouted over the phone.
We are not going to be your cheapest bid, and we will tell you that up front. We stand behind our workmanship: if something we built is not right, we come back and make it right.

A fire pit built as an add-on while we are already installing the patio runs around $1,800. Gas runs roughly three to five times a wood burning pit, because a licensed gas line has to be run to it. Building it with the patio is significantly cheaper than cutting into finished work later. See our full cost guide.

Usually yes. We look at the existing base and the layout first. Sometimes the better answer is to rework a section of the patio rather than set a pit on top of a base that was not built for it.
It depends on your borough or township, and a gas line generally brings its own requirements. We will tell you what your municipality requires before we start.
